5 day Vienna Art and Castle Tour

This 5-day trip will make the hearts of all art and nostalgia lovers beat faster! Be enchanted by the magnificent castles and fascinating museums of Vienna.

DAY 1 - Arrival

You arrive in Vienna and meet your tour guide at the hotel. You can either end the evening relaxed in the hotel or roam the bustling streets and bars.

DAY 2 - City Tour

In the morning you will set off with your guide for a guided tour of Vienna, you will also have an audio guide if you wish to use. During the tour, you will be enjoying the sites of the imperial and architectural beauty of the city - a reminder of the vast wealth of the Habsburgs and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

We end the tour at Schönbrunn Palace, the residence of the Habsburg Maria Theresa.


You can spend the rest of the day as you wish and explore the city on your own.

 

DAY 3 - Melk Abbey River Danube Cruise

Today you will explore the UNESCO Danube Valley with its rich history and enchanting landscape. 

 

Our first stop is the famous Benedictine Abbey Melk, which is one of the most beautiful examples of baroque architecture in Europe. Melk, which dates back to 831, offers an impressive variety of architectural works. 

 

You can arrange to have your lunch at any point in the day, as you wish. 

 

Next, we take an unforgettable cruise along the picturesque Danube to the historic city of Krems with its colourful, nostalgic buildings.

 

DAY 4 - Liechtenstein Museum & Kunsthistorisches Museum

You will have a guided tour of the Liechtenstein Museum, where you can marvel at Gothic and Renaissance works from Italy, Spain, and Northern Europe. 

 

You will continue to the Kunsthistorisches Museum and visit the 16th century Kunst- und Wunderkammer of Archduke Ferdinand and Emperor Rudolph II. Together with the extravagant collections of Archduke Leopold Wilhelm, which they form the core of the museum's magnificent works. 

 

And then in the evening you have the opportunity to attend a concert in Vienna.

 

DAY 5 - Albertina

The Albertina, a magnificent Viennese palace, recently became part of a permanent exhibition on the transition from Impressionism to Modernism. The artists range from the French masters Monet, Degas and Cézanne to Picasso and the abstract expressionists Mark Rothko and Sam Francis.

After your guided tour of the exhibition and lunch, you will return to the airport for the journey home.
