Day 1 - Arrival in Iceland

 

You will be received in Keflavík and transferred to Reykjavík. Overnight stay in Icelandair Hotel Natura (dinner is optional).

 

Day 2 - Waterfalls, glacier hike 

 

After breakfast, we take the bus across the Hellisheiði plateau and along the south coast. On the way, we visit the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss.

 

Afterwards, a glacier hike takes place on the glacier Sólheimajökull, during which the uniqueness of a glacier landscape can be wonderfully experienced. Continuation to Vík, with a detour to Cape Dyrhólaey. Overnight stay will be at the Icelandairhotel Vík.

 

Day 3 - Kirkjubæjarklaustur & Skaftafell

 

Today the journey continues towards the east. In Kirkjubæjar-klaustur we will stop and - depending on weather conditions and accessibility - explore either a waterfall or a gorge on a short hike. Then we continue to the Skaftafell National Park, where another hike can explore either the Svartifoss waterfall or a glacier tongue. Overnight stay at the hotel Skaftafell.

 

Day 4 - Jökulsárlón & ice cave

 

In the morning we go to the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón. Icebergs calving from the largest glacier in Europe, the Vatnajökull, float here in the water of the lagoon and offer a unique natural spectacle. From here the next icy adventure is started, now it is not rising, but in or under the glacier. The tour guide decides on the spot, according to the circumstances, which of the natural ice caves will be visited. These unique caves can only be admired in winter! (About 45 minutes stay in the cave to marvel and take pictures). 

 

In the late afternoon, we will return to Vík and spend the night at the Icelandairhotel Vík.

 

Day 5 - Golden Circle & Reykjavík

 

After breakfast we will head for the capital, but not directly, because first, we will visit the famous spring Geysir & the waterfall Gullfoss. The tour continues to Þingvellir National Park, which can be explored on a long walk. Then it goes over the plateau Mosfellsheiði to Reykjavík. 

 

Then an overnight stay at the Icelandairhotel Natura.

 

Day 6 - Transfer to the airport and flight home.

 

After breakfast in the early morning hours, your transfer will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the airport in Keflavík, where you will fly home.
