The town dates back to an early Christian Celtic settlement (approx. 8th century). Around this time the relics of the apostle Andrew were probably brought to this place. The St Andrew's Cross of the Scottish flag is traced back to him, and the cathedral was founded in 1160 and completed in 1326. However, during the reformation, it was destroyed by followers of John Knox. The ruins of the bishop's castle, built between the 13th and 16th centuries, are located just outside the city.
In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to get to know the famous Castle / New Course during your 4th round of golf.
Then the evening is at your free disposal.
